But this is the thing, most of the TV back in the day was pretty shit. Thats all you had - so it was all you had to guage it by. In NZ there was TV1 and TV2 up until 1989 when TV3 came out. But we were alright for a while as the TV had 4 channel buttons on the front of it. Then we got all bling and got a TV with a remote, not just one with a cable like our neighbours :sly:
For the younger ones you can wax lyrically in years to come about your PS2 having controllers with cables and getting wireless controllers the same way..

A good example would be this 80's staple the Love Boat. Now apart from crooning the opening theme tune try and watch an entire episode.

Remember this is only into the 3rd season of 10 before we got to moments where the writers were running out of ideas. This is where the term "jumping the shark" comes from.

Personally this was all a great motivator as I just thought fuckit, I will go for a ride on my bike instead of watching this shit. Surviving off a diet of Zap and Steak and Cheese pies.

Local content anyone?

I don't actually remember watching the series (though the theme tune is very familiar) but I had the comic it was based on... And it's getting re-made, not sure if that's a terrible mistake or not.

OK, help me out. Does anyone remember a kids/YA TV show where the main plot seemed to consist of some people living in a house, and when they looked out the windows there were these standing stones, then next time they looked out the stones were CLOSER to the house and spooooky music was playing? Friends of ours remember it too but no one can remember what it was called or anything else about it.

It wasnt the Tomorrow People or anything like that....

Sounds kind of like the Dr Who Weeping Angels but assume you're talking pre-2007?
