Offers: Black 31.6 Seatpost

Postby Tama on Mon 16/Apr/07 11:33am

This is an example of a new feature on Vorb Buy+Sell. As you can see above there's an "Offers" box. This allows interested buyers to post offers for whatever is on sale.

Placing an offer sets you to "Watch" the listing, and all watchers are e-mailed when there is a new offer. This can feature can be used to auction items but without all that legally binding stuff (or any fees for that matter).

As an example I've listed this seatpost I've had lying around - it's 31.6mm and in good condition. You can select "Offers" from the dropdown box while making a new listing to activate this option.

OK - I sorta used this as an example, but I do genuinely want to sell the seatpost - any offers over $5 considered :)

It's just offers - not a Trademe auction. But obviously I want to get rid of it.

Nope. Asking for offers is quite different from auctioning something.

Just curoius, can you offer less than someone else? Cos I know often I would rather sell to someone I trust over a grom, even if they'de offered slightly less. (But I don't want to make an offer on your seatpost to test it :paranoid: )

You can't offer less than the highest offer. But the seller can remove offers they don't trust :)

Is this a "working example"? Meaning do you have this seatpost for sale or is it a dummy listing?
