North Island Dh Series Round 1 – long Gully

The North Island 'DH' series is kicking off 2009 with round one in Wellington.
The race will be held at Long Gully station on the newly finished Jawbone track.

DOWNHILL

Practice Day: Saturday 26th September
ENTRY = WMTBC Members - $30 / Non Members - $35
• DH Registration: 9:30am – 2pm
• DH Practice: 10am – 3pm

Race Day: Sunday 27th September
ENTRY = WMTBC Members - $25 / Non Members - $30
• DH Registration: 8:30am – 10am
• DH Practice: 9am – 10am
• DH Competitors briefing: 10:30am
• DH Race #1: 11am – 12pm
• DH RACE #2: 1pm – 2pm
• Prize giving: 3pm

DUAL SLALOM
Late Saturday afternoon, there will be a dual slalom race held at the 4X track up Mt Albert.
• DS Registration: 3pm – 4pm
• DS Practice: 3pm – 4pm
• DS Racing: 4:30pm
• DS Prize giving: 6pm

Race entry on the day only.
Entry form is attached.

We've got loads of prizes to give away!

Attached is the entry form for series points registration.
Points registration must be completed and received by NOON THURSDAY 24th SEPTEMBER – no exceptions.
Entries received early enough will have their race number plates posted out, later ones will be bought to the races and available for pick-up.

To register for series points you need to contact AKDH.

South Star Shuttles will be at Long Gully running shuttles for this event :thumbsup:

Hey guys, I never been to Long gully before...can someone give me pretty accurate directions there pleeaaassee?? Keen as to race. Also wheres the closest motel place thats reasonably cheap? Cheers

I have more Airpoints than I know what to do with so am considering coming up to shoot this round... I'm happy to live in a motel, but I would be keen to know if there's a decent chance of grabbing a lift with someone to the event and back on each day...

Also, can anyone point to a set of photos taken at this track? How does it rate in terms of levels of insane?

follow motorway all the way to end then you pretty much follow the signs towards the windmill/brooklyn but im sure the club will put up signs

The track is fast and pretty tech, super fun to ride.
Plenty of jumps, drops, step-ups, step-downs, ladders and a whole lot more for riders to throw some style on for the camera :)

We are hoping to get some helmet cam fottage up ASAP so everyone can see the finished track.
But for now... here's some pics I've found
