Niner Rip 29er (large, Blue) Stolen In Wellington

Postby Mr_Wiggles on Sun 25/Jul/10 8:42pm

The bastard nicked it from my garage in Northland, Wellington - a few hundred metres from Revolution Bikes.

Blue Niner RIP Size L Frame. Fully-suspended 29er. Mushroom sticker on it from Revolution Bicycles. Manitou Minute 29 front fork, flat handlebars.

2008 model so the frame has a round cross-section to the tubing, not the flatter/hydroformed cross-section on the newer Niner RIP models.

Picture of me happy on my beautiful bike here:

We all smile like that as we do the Karapoti. My beautiful bike!

Shitbags. Will keep an eye out for wagon wheel bits.

Any distinctive parts to keep an eye out for?

Thanks to all for the sentiments.

As for distinctive parts: much of the componentry is common, but also not worth a hell of a lot 2nd hand.

It's the 29er-specific bits stand out. A fully-sussed 29er makes the frame distinctive - they're quite uncommon. 29er front forks as described above.

Oli made the big 29er wheels and described them thus on his blog in March 2008 : "I also built these lovely 29er wheels using XT hubs and Stan's NoTubes ZTR Flow 29er rims, again laced up with DT Competition double-butted spokes to go on a lovely new Niner being built by Jonty at Revolution Bicycles. At 1990 grams for the pair they will be a durable and lovely to ride wheelset." (ah, the heart breaks to re-read it)

Fortunately insurance will pay. But still - grrrrr! It's my bike!
