Newb Roadie Training

Postby 9ine on Sat 4/Aug/07 2:40am

Hello

I just bought a road bike for training to improve my mountain biking performance. I'm going to have a go at a few events on it too in time.

What I'm after is some simple advice on training. Do I just go out and ride as much as possible? Should I be aiming for any particular intensity or just get in as much KMs as possible? I dont want a complex training routine, just some basic tips to get started.

Thanks all

Three hard aerobic rides a week. Aim for 60min each time of quality riding. Once you can do this try and step it up so you are doing more quality riding. Aim to get up to your average race duration.

This will provide the foundation for any high intensity work you plan to do for bigger events.
