Hi, I'm New!

Postby halcyonCorsair on Wed 8/Oct/08 12:02am

Hi, new roadie here, just got my bike on Saturday, so lets see where it can take me!

Looking to ride at least 80km of relay at Taupo, and I'm kinda keen to bike from Picton back home through Nelson to Motueka at some point.

Greetings and salutations.

Prepare to be addicted to pointless banter, education, and an insatiable appetite for spending money on things relating to the bicycle, and spending a LOT of time justifying to yourself and others the aforementioned spending, which you can't. But we understand.

And your bike's tyres are too narrow, and there's no springy things on the front or rear. But you will get there. Start saving.

What a beautiful bike - where do you pick it up from ?

By the way - thought about doing the Source to the Sea on her ?

I'm up in Wellington and pretty new, so for the moment I'm looking North at Taupo, rather than South. :)

I looked around all the bike shops in Wellington and wasn't satisfied with what I saw until I went to Capital Cycles where Paul Davies put this together for me to my basic spec and filling the gaps with his expertise and awesomeness. :)

I hear theres an old dirt track/road from Picton to Nelson thats quite nice, but obviously I'll have to stick to the main roads. :)

As I said further up, I'm based in Wellington, so looking further North rather than South generally, although I usually go home to Tasman / Motueka for Christmas. :)
