Apparently that one linked weighs 32.89lbs, without any crazy-light stuff on it.

Yes it does. Apparently they coat the can so that some seal inside slides nicely and they have to do the whole piece in the coating not just the inside.

RP23 blackout kits anyone? you could make a fortune :D

They could have put a bigger decal on it.

This should probably go in the ugly bike thread but I can't be bothered looking for it.

From what I've heard all the fox 29er offerings will be 34mm for 2012. Dunno how much truth there is to that.

Also of interest to wagon wheeling xcfags is the Rockshox SID 29er. Claimed to be nearly 200g lighter than the Reba XX (which is circa 1850g from memory). 15mm axle available across the range (interesting as it was orginally a Fox/Shimano standard), with both maxles and 9mm optional depending on model. SID has a flash carbon crown/steerer assembly too. Even with the 15mm I'd be interested to hear how it handles.

From what I read the 100-120 XC ones will still be 32mm and the longer travel trail type ones will be 34mm.

How many of these would you need for Taupo?

It is the solution for AM bikes without bottle cages, DaveAldred would cream himself if he saw this, its beyond his wildest dream to combine his grom love of AM and going camelbak naked.

I haven't used a bottle for ten years. Is the extra weight that people don't like? IE in a road race you can drink then throw the bottle away until someone gives you another one?
Or people don't like riding with a backpack?
