Local Stag monument, at Lumsden which is the pioneer of the venison industry in New Zealand.
Rode around to the Railway Hotel at Mossburn and nearly got mauled by a Pit Bull. Just as well I was on the old Carlton... phew!

Later went to Lumsden home of the Southern man. The hotel pub is beautifully painted in murals depicting the ethos of the drover and his essentials of Speights beer.
Back at Mossburn again the New Southern Man poses beside his hoarding signage likeness.
He gazes dreamily north at the vista of snow capped domes in the distance and lazy cattle as the homekill truck arrives with its retinue of liver coloured retrievers.
