I read Trail's comments as friendly advice from someone who has lived for an extended period of time outside of NZ, including in South America.

The old "experience of age v's the enthusiasm of youth" thing. My daughter doesn''t believe I know shit either.

True, sorry Trail and thanks for the advice, I see how easy it is to get defensive and assume everyone is against you.

Mr. Diver when are you going?

Anyway a fantastic opportunity

Yep. As Colin says I am not being negative, but realistic. I did live in Sth America for a while and I am just saying dont expect everything to run exactly as it would here in NZ.

Sth America is a great place. One heck of a lot of fun and and fantastic for biking and experiencing a culture that is different to NZ. I would love to go and build but have commitments here. Definitely go and experience this sort of thing before you get tied down with real jobs, mortgages, family etc!! By the way, if you can swing more time in Sth America to travel and experience the place I highly recommend it!

after 3 months of work with no overheads you should be able to do a few more months in south america and have some $$ left over.
