Most Expensive Spare Part?

Postby Mel on Mon 17/May/10 9:33pm

What's the most expensive spare part you have kicking around in your spare parts bin, workbench, shelf, or cupboard?

I was unpacking my bike stuff yesterday to set up my new workshop and found I've got a few modestly priced items just sitting there in pristine condition, waiting to be used on a future build.

My most pricey item would be my Thomson seatpost, about $180 at full retail.

What have you got?

Brand new Crank Bros Candy Cs @ $170 odd ... They came std on my new bike, and I was gonna try them out, just to be different. But then chickened out and switched over to the ol'trusty spds.
Also have a Manitou Relic 120mm fork sitting round. Not a bad entry-level trail fork imho.

Plus a multitude of other parts, Race Face Cranks, Stem

Thats not counting the build kit for the DH bike

Just one Dean, just one will do. ;)

You mentioning your CK headset collection reminded me I have a Hope headset somewhere... about $210 retail?? Can't remember - I certainly didn't pay that much! :D

Your back? That's a pretty pricey part, something that the six million dollar man might have in his garage. :D
