I love pork. I love bacon. I love ham.
I've been concerned for a while now about buying quality produce, including meat. Our butcher supplies free range pork, and the best bacon. It should be for the money, but I am prepared to pay more if I am happy that the animals have had a good life before slaughter, they are slaughtered humanely, and I don't have to watch it or be involved.
Now, given the recent bad publicity (and massive media beat up, which I suggest is Mike King being a nasty fucker, which he has the reputation for being)
How much pork will you be eating this month? Will you be making enquiry of your purveyor as to provenance? Will you be prepared to pay more for better product if the wee beastie has had a better life? Does that extend to other meat products? Does it extend to eggs?
