Its hard to get proof if some one refuses to particaipate in an out of competition drug test.

By your logic someoe could just refuse to ever take a drug test and would be above suspision for being a drug cheat :eh:
but he didn't refuse

actually, fuck it. i'm a cyclist, and i have never raced before. i am going to do my first one this coming weekend. if i do well, or even half decently (both fairly unlikely) then i'm just gonna go ahead and ban myself, because it'll be fairly obvious i've spent the last few months on the juice, since it'll be a surprise result from an unknown.

it's filthy drug cheats like me who are ruining our sport

By not letting authroities know where you are you are effectivly refusing. Theres no real difference.

Maybe its all just a big misunderstanding, but being a professional athlete he should know better. Time will tell (but I don't buy it)

Anyone who wins the TDF or even gets close is going to be cast in suspicion; I personally think there are still more doped riders in the peloton than clean, whether over time this will or can be changed I don't know but I would like to think that it could. Obviously clean racing is going to be better for the health of both the riders and the sport.
Funny how everyone is praising Contador - 24yrs old, hasn't raced heaps of major races before and against the older guys he would almost be classed as inexperienced. Surely with his riding and winning a mountain stage (beating Rasmussen) he must be on the juice right? Hell, if he can recover and still ride well through the rest of the Pyranees he must be doped up to the gills.
Come on, give these guys a break until something comes back that shows that they have cheated. Innocent until that point no matter what you think of them :sly:

At least Contador has made himself available 24/7 for drug testing. Like I say Rasmussen can only blame himself for the accusations and speculation that has arisin from him not allowing himself to be tested on two occassions. Plus he has ridden all season prior to the tour so was tested in and out of competetion.

Rasmussen is either cheating or he is dum. A top tour contender shoud never behave in a way that will arouse suspicion like he has. This behaviour may have cost him an Olympic medal in MTB which was a goal of his. Now he is banned from representing his country as a result.

Cheat or just Dum ?? You decide.

Has anyone noticed the similarities between Vino's come-back last night and a certain moustachio'd american last year...?

Someone should have been checking his nads at the finish line.

There's a big difference between letting a rider that's 40 odd minutes down go up the road and a GC contender riding away from the other GC contenders.

Landis was what -- 8 minutes down? The GC contenders at that time figured that they'd be OK and never organised a chase.

Vinos breakaway was initiated with 23 others. Thats a lot of pulling power at the front on the bunch which made them the majority of the time they took. Landis pretty much was on the attack on his own for a lot longer too. And being so far down on GC they top contenders were not concerned about him.
