Meridian Kids Bike Jam Working Bee Anzac Day At Woodhill...

Postby blackadder63 on Wed 23/Apr/08 10:00pm

Our involvement with the annual Meridian Bikejams is on again on 18 May at Woodhill.

The objective is introduce 500+ kids in three age categories from six to thirteen to the pleasures of Mountain Biking. As well as honouring our commitment to expanding the mountain biking community this event raises funds for the club that we put back into the sport through runnning less profitable activities.

With Woodhill Bikeparks assistance we have set three courses around an event village at the north end of the bike park using trails like Haggis, Anaconda & Python. We now need a little assistance to prepare the event village area and link the trails together.

We are planning to get most of this done on the afternoon of ANZAC day and would welcome some assistance.

Specifically we require;

· Some Jafakids or others with bike computers to measure the courses - time & distance.

· Some people to mark the courses using coloured arrows and stapleguns.

· Some track builders who can bring rakes and spades to build some short lengths of new track to bypass steep bits and make short joining tracks.

· Some chainsaw operators to clear some fallen branches around the event village.

With some assistance we are confident we can get this all done inside three hours and leave it to settle for three weeks before the event.

We will be meeting at the gate into the forest next to Tree Adventures at 12:30 on Friday afternoon to get onto the job by 1pm and we'd love to see you there.

Any questions please reply here or call us on the numbers below.

Cheers on behalf of the events committee
