I'm liking the Japan GT Championship (GT300 and GT500) at the moment (when it on!)

NSX, 350Z, Supra, Maranello and Murcie's all on the same track

Mmmmmmmmm 500hp NA NSX. The closest I get is playing GT3.
Wouldn't they have to detune the 575M and Murcielargo down to 500hp? And trim about 2/5 of their wieght off? Porky Italians. :D

Not sure exactly what they do to get them down to 500hp. Check out http://www.jgtc.net/index_en.htm

The tractor noise is the lifters not the pistons, old RS's used to be terrible for that.

Hmmmm, did the RSB come with forged pistons? The STI Imprezas did but unless you have aftermarket items I would be doubtful. As for the piston slap, i've talked to a few mechanics who say it is often a sign of wear and tear and possible ovalising of the barrel. They said it should be sweet, just don't thrash it when it is making that tappety sound.

Hopefully it is just the lifters, it takes a while for the oil to get to them when you start it up.

Subbies 97 onwards have forged pistons apparently. RSB do it, the B4's do it and the Foresters sound the worst.

It disappears when the engine reaches normal operating temperature, and so is consistent with higher piston to bore clearance required when forged pistons are fitted (forged pistons have a higher thermal expansion rate than cast).
