Sure is :)

If you are keen to ride you will have transport

The only time it may be called off is if we have less than one vehicle full of riders I would have thunk.

So wear lots, bring your chain lube and have a blast !!

The first time I shuttled in makara it was raining. Trickle falls was mint, but some of the switchbacks on vertigo were a mite slippy. I dropped my front wheel off that wooden ramp/skinny thing half-way down and disappeared down the bank.

It was fun

Hmmm I decided to call it a day and go to work. Looking out over Courtenay Place from my office and the weather looks miserable :(

Best of luck for the troopers that are out there!

A big thanks to the organisers and drivers! It was an epic day, at the end of my final run down I completely wore through my pads so I'm glad I'd called it in then.

Thanks to the club, the council, the drivers and everyone else who turned up and rode, it was a bloody awesome day of riding. The cleaning afterwards was not quite as much fun though :D Oh and cheers Robbie, you're a life-safer.

In spite of light rain much of the time and /or wind over 40 riders enjoyed a day of being transported to the Summit :)

I think the last keen riders ran out of steam at 6.30pm.

Huge thanks to the drivers and the vehicle providers who helped out on the day at no charge:

Simon Greenway ( who brought along his own 4wd van with cunning internal bike racks)
Sandy Robbins ( who braved the muddy road in the family wagon)
Hugh Macleod ( and his lengthy Peugeot)
Joby Mills, WCC Ranger (in the Park Ranger Hi Lux )
Don Macleod ( in the Muds Cycles 4wd )
And thankyou to Burkes Cycles for providing a van ( which was shelter for cold wet people)

$760 was raised which will be used for track mainenance at the Makara peak Mountain Bike Park.

There were a few mechanicals during the day ( I heard of a few people wore through their brake pads, a shifter broke, and a tow bar broke ) but there were no significant injuries..although I hear some gorse may have been damaged!

I shall post up some photos tomorrow, sorry about the delay..

Many thanks to Don Macleod for running this school holiday event, the drivers, the vehicle owners and of course the riders!!

Cheers,
