I wish I had a 4WD as my FWD Citroen wont cut it :p

This day always had a vehicle or two available

But having another would be greatly appreciated

Any tracks can be ridden, but it goes to the top. Tracks going from the top are Ridgeline, Vertigo and Trickle Falls. Check the map on makarapeak.org

Shuttle pickup is the red circle (well it has been for every other shuttle day anyway)

I heard stories of a cart wheel on the bike mid run..while wearing a helmet cam. Calmly awaiting footage to emerge, whilst hoping the said cart wheeler is in one piece, sounded like his helmet wasn't.

Was OK. Not a huge amount of people.

Wasn't feeling it for some reason. Only did 6 or so runs.

Livewires doesn't look like it's getting much traffic. Shame really, I reckon that's a far better way out of the park than Swigg/Starfish. Ridgeline has obviously had some work done since I last rode it (last year lol) cuz the bottom bit is too smooth

Wasn't as acrobatic as a cartwheel, but it definitely hurt, and left a 5m space shuttle re-entry path of destruction carved in gravel on Zacs

Here is a report from Don, the hardworking organiser of this event:

On Wednesday April 15th, about 25 riders took part in shuttle runs at Makara Peak.
The weather was fine, and the day was enjoyed by all with only a few minor spills. Ridgeline, Vertigo, Trickle Falls and T3 were all popular.
About $500 was raised to support trail building, maintenance and conservation at Makara Peak.

Watch VORB and Makarapeak.org for any future dates, which will probably be during school holidays, and we will endeavour to be a litttle better organised and put out a bit more advanced publicity.
Thanks for helping on the day to Hugh, Alex, Tor, Alan, Bike Barn and Mud Cycles.

Also a reminder to anyone using the 4WD roads at Makara Peak: Please remember that these roads are used frequesntly by vehicles for various reasons.
If you keep left and control your speed everyone will be safe

Don

(Well done to Don once again for making this special event happen!!)

Another good shuttle day.
Plenty of entertainment provided...
Yanked a guy out of the scrub by his feet down trickle falls, And another gashed his shin to the bone later on.
