Linger & Die: Giro Enduro

ENDURA Enduro Race:
This Years Giro Enduro Features 7 stages, 3 maybe slightly familiar to some of you and 4 are brand new stages,we will release maps on Friday 11th September.
Day entries only if transponders are available! Check Facebook for info on the day…

Remember: Long finger gloves and knee-pads compulsory!
A riding helmet must be worn at all times, full-face helmets are optional (and highly recommended).
Same bike for the whole race, take enough food, drink and spares to keep you going alllll day.
No outside help except tech station.
You have 5 hours to complete the course from your start time i.e.: 9:45am start => 2:45pm finish. We expect everyone to have finished by approx 3:30pm.

Also this year the top part of Little Valley Rd is closed for a motorsport event Further up the road from where we are riding, but there will still be spectator traffic using the road so please be aware that when you are riding on section of Little Vally road to keep left as much as possible and normal road rules apply !!

On the day entries? (Only if available) from 8:30am and will be $10 extra (please enter online)
Race Briefing 9:30am

Stage 1 start: 9:45am and we may seed you at briefing. Shuttle carries you for this stage in waves of 20 to Clyde Lookout (your liaison will be 1km approx). After the timed stage, (approx 2.8km, 370m descent) you will self-shuttle (car) to the next liaison starting from Pioneer Park in Alexandra. Parking to be in Brandon St (opposite the Mobil Service Station) close to the event finish and prize-giving venue (Monteith’s Brewery Bar). Please do not park in the Shaky Bridge Cafe car park.
Stage 2
Liaison starts from Pioneer park cross over main road to the Shaky bridge an head up hill behind Vineyard to Rock garden trail & a short steep walk up Anthrax hill to start of Stage 2, This stage is a classic has so fast open section and large rock features Enjoy, and finished back at the Base of Anthrax.
Stage 3 is New
Liasion start with another wee walk up Anthrax hill to the pines plantation where stage 3 starts, Rock roller start into a fast defending flow trail short but sweet, but don’t blow the corners or the Briar will rip you apart.
Stage 4 is New
Very Short Liaison 500m to feed station at Cattle stop on Little valley Road then pedal up Little Vally rd to top of hill and start stage 4, open to start with some off camber rock rollers, duck your head into a cave like section and pedal like hell to the Finish, back at Feed station.
Stage 5

Liasion climbs 1km up the Willow ridge to the skyline is a wee test in itself, Stage 5 start across open country through gate and things start head down hill from there with rocky tights sections and fast dirty corners.
Stage 6 is New
Liaison is a single track pedal out of a gully back to the feed station about 1.5 km away, after feed station jump the fence and head up about 1 km to the start of stage 6
This trail has a bit of everything, rocky steep, fast open through trees and some tight tech features at the end.
Stage 7 is New
Liaison is 150 meters to Start of stage 7, we have saved the best to last but be careful outthere this stage has a lot of exposure is very narrow at the top and the lower section is like a dry Riverbed/waterfall so thing come at you pretty fast, but so much fun.
Stage 7
Finishes at the bottom of Graveyard Gully with a short 1 km ride back to Shaky Bridge and across back to your car at pioneer park an then enjoy a cold Beer at Monthieths with with your Beer Voucher from registration.

Prizegiving: At Monteiths Bar opposite the iSite in Alexandra’s main drag. BBQ available, bar meals and beer! Prizegiving will commence as soon as possible, we are hoping for approx 3:30pm (ish). Use your voucher here!
