Aimed at the people who haven't really had a go on an MTB before, plus kids, Slacker riders :p , etc. Will involve a pretty simple loop including Koru and Lazy Fern.

If you're not feeling particularly sprightly, we are in need of a few marshals for the Grand Loop - see the other thread (http://www.vorb.org.nz/makara-grand-loop-challenge-2010-t109796.html).

thanks so shuttles are at 4pm while the 2 best DH trails are in use for the Grand loop ????
and people are trying to race across the summit while a vehicle is turning around and dropping of passengers with little interest in the race?
makes sense to me

Here is the news :) Study it well !

The Park Rangers doing the shuttling will be coordinating with the marshal on the top of the hill for driving up. The top of the hill marshal will remind shuttlers that the grand loop race is going on..It is expected that all Grand Loop racers will be off Ridgeline by 5pm.

Shuttles will be meeting on the 4wd at the top of the Lazy Fern/ Koru (the usual meeting place), and then drop off at the top of Makara Peak.

It is really important to know that there is only one vehicle being used, so there will not be heaps of rides, but they will be great rides for sure :)

The festival is about showing bikers, runners and walkers, and the wider Wellington community what Makara peak is all about: shuttles are just a small part of a big day's activities, so please share the tracks wisely :D
