I do on my road bike, not the CX or XC bikes though. Because I like to pretend I'm pro!

:) I just got another frame/forks on Monday and ground mine off today (as I’ve done on my other bikes).

They have their place.
I went to fix a puncture on a friends bike and not knowing how a QR works they had left the QR unclamped and just used it as a lever to spin the axle tight. If it wasn't for the tabs the wheels would've fallen out.

No denying that.

Me I know how to use one, so for me is redundant. My customers get lawyers tabs, unless they specifically ask for them to be removed.

Nobody ever follows me around with spare wheels, so taking the tabs off for a lightning wheel change seems a bit pointless.

I always remove them unless asked not to. For a start they are majorly gay, and secondly nothing fucks noobs up more than trying to figure out how to work a quick release lever - not LTs mean the q/r is set and forget.

:) I think if a bike shop person spends a minute showing a noob how to use the QRs and asks the buyer if they want the LTs loped off its'll save countless minutes out on the road and it'll show the customer the shop is all about service. It'll mean that ugly sticker can go too.

...although if the front wheel did come off and caused an accident on a new bike with the LTs cut off could the customer sue the shop if they could prove the lack of tabs caused it?

I would always explain what I've done and why I did it.
