Latest Hot Yeti Just One Of Six In The Country

On Saturday night thieves broke into Stoke Cycles in Nelson and stole an alloy Yeti ASR 5 – one of only six in the country.

Stoke Cycles owner Mike Anderson said the shop had been cased the night before with the alarms being set off when the doors and windows had been tampered with.

"They came back about 3am on Saturday night, rammed a hole in the toughened glass window and stole the Yeti ASR 5," he said.

"They knew what they were after – they didn't take anything else."

Police are investigating the burglary and anyone with any info should contact Yeti NZ on 0800 Yeti NZ or through or call Mike Anderson, of Stoke Cycles, on (03) 547 6361.

The Yeti ASR 5 is the latest 5-inch travel mountain bike from Yeti and has received rave reviews around the world. There are only six in the country and the one that has been stolen can be easily identified by its slate finish, enduro build kit and has the serial number 10R50167M stamped on its bottom bracket.

This burglary comes only a few days after Yeti NZ downhill, 4X and BMX athlete Daniel Franks and his brother Mikey had their new Yeti 303RDH frames stolen from their Christchurch home.
Yeti's ASR 5 is fast becoming one of Yeti's best-sellers around the world, and there are only a few still available in New Zealand. This picture shows the carbon version of the ASR 5 – the slate-coloured ASR 5 stolen from Stoke Cycles is an alloy model.
