Will people FINALLY leave him the fuck alone now? How many hugeass investigations is this... And how many times has there been ANY credible evidence that he doped? Doubters need to STFU.

I suppose, generally, you would hope that it almost always does? Being that it is credible?

It's not hard to imagine the political machine of cycling and american values having an interest in protecting their hero...

Actually if you bother to read the article...

"The case may not be concluded for Armstrong, however, as the US Anti-doping Agency (USADA) has announced that it is "looking forward to obtaining the information" which was gathered through the grand jury investigation."

Lance wasn't "cleared".

A press release from United States Attorney Andre Birotte Jr. stated his office "is closing an investigation into allegations of federal criminal conduct by members and associates of a professional bicycle racing team owned in part by Lance Armstrong."

(I don't expect you will find any comment in the statement as to whether Lance's team doped up to their eyeballs or up to their hairline).

CEO of USADA, Travis Tygart indicated that today's decision by the US Attorney may help his agency pursue Armstrong on doping violations.
"Unlike the U.S. Attorney, USADA’s job is to protect clean sport rather than enforce specific criminal laws,..."

As I've said elsewhere, if the Feds can't pin anything on him (alleged doping was the crux of their case, in that they wanted to prosecute him for using USPS money to fund the team's meds) then I doubt the USADA will be able to. Famed investigator Jeff Novitsky wanted Armstrong bad yet couldn't prove it well enough to prosecute, so I think they'll be shit out of luck. Plus they will be spending more money potentially to no end, when they need to be spending money doing drug tests in big US races to catch any current dopers.

I think he's in the clear, no matter what anyone thinks he may or may not have done...

No life for me neither.
Lance was the long-time ringleader of what I guess is one of the most successful and influential team doping programs in recent cycling. Every event they entered, every team which had to compete with them has been affected.

His superstar status forced the lily-white UCI to besmirch itself to protect him from inconvenient test results.

The whole sport became addicted to the money he brought in. Top cycle racers are now basically TV entertainers and brand advertisers, just like the rugby guys.

Bah, hound him to the grave.
