Yeah I've done that too, except I went about ten feet down into the river...

We rode up it a couple of weeks back, and it seemed easier than it has been in years. Didn't really think about what the new waterbars would be like on the way back down though - will have to check it out on a ride to work next week...

I clipped a rock wall with my bars while sprinting in the big ring and got tossed over the bars. Fortunately I landed on the track rather than down into the stream (it was one of the narrow bits). Slacky won with a time of around 18 minutes, which is pretty damned fast.

Thats quick! I find it fun to do the track down from the manguraki entrance down to the dam, then down to korokoro from there. If you stay alert and keep out of busy hours you can get a super fast n fun downhill thats a decent length  :)

You mean when it had steps instead? Now there's only steps at the bridge. I was under the impression the ranger wanted to make it all ridable. It's all good on a cross bike, up and back, with a big loop of belmont thrown in as well (via up Danzig)
