Great pics and update PK

It looks like Ollie has a good 10-12 km lead from Andy at the moment, well on their way up the Molesworth. It's going to be an interesting day between our two local lads :sly:

I tried embedding it here on the forums but it didn't work.

The videos are always a fun way to see who likes sleep deprivation and who doesn't.

That is very cool

but there is a 8min giv or take a minute time gap between those lastest locations so the true gap is a lot less than it shows

Actually I dont think thats the case Colin, I think where the competitor left a big gap between hitting the SPOT tracker, it tracks them in a straight line between those 2 points, and lust looks like a shortcut

I think these SPOT trackers are working quite good for a first-time thing. Hopefully by the next time an event of this awesomeness rolls around they'll have developed it a bit more. It'd be awesome to see something like automated, moar regular updates.

I agree, its great although the only improvement would be if they were all on automated updates every 10 minutes, and of course if the satellite reception never ever failed.

Does anyone else look at the tracker map, and start going "C',mon you guys, its only 2 miles to get to there, hurry up!". Like, all the time.

This is fascinating/ addictive stuff. Really dig the tracking.

Awesome efforts from all the riders, so inspiring, but I kind of feel sorry for their bums....

Will have to work on getting a pass out for next year - I hope there will be another?

Yep. It may appear that some riders are shortcutting, but it's just the software interpolating their position between distant SPOT points. Many things can affect how often people get points, including perhaps most importantly, where in their kit the SPOT is placed.
