Same! For someone who can't even contemplate doing such a thing right now it's sure great to follow and read about - it's like following two Tours a year!

Every single person that participated in this event is just plain bat shit mad :p The kind of madness that makes life worth living. It was awesome following the trackers during the event and now that the blogs are coming thick and fast we get to read of your fine achievements. I was lucky enough to spend a week riding in the Nelson region recently and wish the circuit was anti-clockwise so I could have seen some of you come past. Now I just need to get off my arse and, when work permits, get inducted into the Brevet addicts club.

For those about to ride we salute you.

Can I ask a question of those who have just finished? What ability of rider do you have to be to complete this event?
If you've fished this do you ride Elite, Sport or rec at most normal mtb races?

Hi Noel.

You just have to love riding your bike and riding it far.

If you do not love riding your bike, then I don't recommend riding Kiwi Brevet.

I had never entered an MTB event in my life and I am not exactly quick in road events either... Just love to ride..

If you love to ride, and to ride long then you should definitely consider riding Kiwi Brevet or similar events. It is a near certainty that if you love to ride long that you will finish well within the 8-day time-limit.

Just finished Mike's version of events. Succinct, yet rich with "the vibe". Great stuff.

Mick made a wee slide show on his iPhone hipster machine gadget and this is what it produced.
