Mountain biker in fight for life
5:00AM Tuesday December 18, 2007

A 14-year-old boy was last night fighting for his life after a mountain-biking accident left him with critical head injuries.

The boy, who was wearing a safety helmet, landed on his head as he crashed at the popular Woodhill Forest mountain biking spot northwest of Auckland.

The Westpac rescue helicopter flew the teenager to the Starship in a critical condition.

yeah at least he's in the best care though at starship being the national kids hospital and all it has some amazingly talented docs that will be taking care of him.

Auckland hosp is the national centre for neurology so he's def getting the best chance...

He had hit all the jumps before and was wearing a full face helmet, he is quite a good rider, so it just shows
that bad things can happen at any time to anyone.
