On behalf of the welly MTB club I would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to Keegans family and friends. Keegan was a young ripper - the future of our sport, and it's a tragedy to see him taken from us so soon.

Gutted to read this news. Didn't know the dude although he totally sounds like a top notch guy. Easy to see he had talent by the bucketload.

Another quote which comes to mind is that of Bruce McLaren and it goes:

"To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy. It would be a waste of life to do nothing with one's ability, for I believe that life is measured in achievement, not in years alone."

No doubt about it, the guy was using his ability and showed through his sponsorships at only 14.

RIP man...

Also great quote Steve-O...

heres a favourite quote of mine...it may be suitable for keegan too(i didnt know him) maybe not...

"I want to ride my bicycle bicycle bicycle; I want to ride my bicycle; I want to ride my bike; I want to ride my bicycle; I want to ride it where I like...; I don't believe in Peter Pan, Frankenstein or Superman; All I wanna do is bicycle, bicycle, bicycle..."

I think sport is one of the things that makes us human, and can enrich our lives enormously.

That Keegan left the world playing sport will be very hard for his family and friends, however I am reminded of a quote by a certain Bruce McLaren.
Referring to the death of his then team mate Timmy Mayer, Bruce McLaren had written:

"The news that he had died instantly was a terrible shock to all of us, but who is to say that he had not seen more, done more and learned more in his few years than many people do in a lifetime? To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy. It would be a waste of life to do nothing with one’s ability, for I feel that life is measured in achievement, not in years alone."

Maybea bit cheesy, but I think it is very true.

It sure sounds like young Keegan did not live a grey quiet life, good on him :)

very sad for someone so young to have such a tragic accident

I was very disappointed today when riding through Plimmerton to see someone had graffetied a telecom box on the side of the road with "RIP Keegan", There is no respect in a disrespectfull act

I have never meet Keegan but reading here and from what I have heard from people who have, he deserves a lot of respect

My regards to family and friends
