Vacancy: Cycling Advocates' Network Project Officer

The Cycling Advocates' Network (CAN) seeks a dynamic and self-motivated person to strengthen its capacity to work with local cycling advocacy groups and local government in the upper North Island. The role involves developing stronger communication networks, establishing new local advocacy groups, and assisting advocates with organisation, strategic planning, membership and campaigning.

You will need to have experience of campaigning and advocacy work, excellent communication, planning and organisational skills, and be good at motivating and managing volunteers.

This is a part-time (20 hours per week) fixed-term position (December 2008 to June 2009, based in Auckland. A full-time Project Manager is based in Wellington, and a part time Officer is based in Christchurch. The position involves domestic travel. The salary range is from $45k to $55k per FTE.

FTE = full-time equivalent. So you'll be getting paid half of that salary for only half a year :p
