Christchurch Installs The Longest Chairlift in New Zealand
This week has seen the Christchurch Adventure Park commence the installation of the towers for the longest chairlift in New Zealand. The chair is designed and manufactured by Doppelmayr, with manufacture taking place in Austria and the component parts shipped to New Zealand ready for installation. The chair lift runs 1.8km from the Adventure Park village in Worsleys Valley up through the Cashmere Forest to the very top of the Port Hills.

Old Ghost Road - Part 1
Like all good adventures, this one needed to begin with a good nights sleep beforehand, and after a comfortable nights sleep at the old nurses home in Reefton, l was as ready as I was every going to be to tackle the infamous Old Ghost Road.

Agreement Opens Access to Wairoa Gorge MTB Trails
Nelson Mountain Bike Club (NMTBC) has entered into a rent free lease agreement with RHL NZ Limited (RHL) that sees the club gain access to RHL’s 841-hectare property just outside Nelson, and the 70km of hand built mountain bike trails that have been created there.

Government Bullying Children Into Cars
"Getting to school safely should be one of the most basic human rights of our children, right? Not in New Zealand", according to Lucinda Rees from the lobby group NZ School Speeds. Today many children will be driven to school, but consider those who walk or cycle. They deal with many hazards on route, but when they have to cross the road to get to the school gate and are faced with distractions, dangers increase.

Jones wins inaugural Aoraki Mount Cook Classic Cycle Race
Christchurch cyclist and New Zealand Speed Skating champion Ollie Jones lived up his favouritism, winning the 100 kilometre inaugural Aoraki Mount Cook Classic Cycle Race held on the shores of Lake Pukaki.

Emerson's Brewery backs Dunedin's 3 Peaks Enduro MTB Race
Dunedin's 3 Peaks Enduro mountain biking race welcomes Emerson's Brewery aboard as title sponsor. The local brewery saw an obvious fit between the event, which in 2016 is ranked as an Enduro World Series (EWS) Qualifier race, and the locally brewed craft beer company that is located near the base of Signal Hill.
