For those of you who might be a tad shy about the weather, check this out:
http://pdxcross.com/page/3/
Look at the dirty pictures, and realize how much fun you could be having on your bike every winter when lots of people are hiding from the swine flu. AND you'll be so much fitter when the spring rolls around!
If you hadn't already noticed, I am obsessed with cyclocross---and my goal is to inspire as many of you lovely people to give it a go. If one day I saw a crowd of riders and spectators a third of the size of those found in your average cross event in Portland, I would be blown away. Cross racing gives me goose bumps. More than any of the other disciplines---and I've tried my hand at nearly all of them. It's very reassuring to see the level of enthusiasm on Vorb.
If it all goes well on Saturday, wouldn't it be cool to do it again in August, and again in September?

Good man, Mike.

I just as keen to turn up to race, as I am to turn up just to see your enthused arousal at the mere sight of cyclocrossers hooning around.

Good job on sorting this event. I'm really looking fwd to it. I see many cross races in Wellington's future.

I'm hoping that the races will not be run at the same time. It would be superb if one category was able to specatate and cheer the other!! No-one appreciates watching bike races, like bike racers.

I've been working hard (for 20mins) crafting a fine cyclocross machine. It is mint, really fast, fits really well, looks ace and handles like a dream.

Actually its horseshit. I can't get over how bad it rides or how bad the pink clashes with the orange. If the gears were any worse I think I would crush my bobby in my new vice in a fit of despair. Frickin gears. I shouldn't have bothered with them.

Really looking fwd to it anyway. Defo keen for the social at Bike Hutt afterwards.

Anyone driving in via Porirua who might want company? I'm in need of a ride.

Cheers Cross Lovers.
