C'mon Oli, my bike started as a roadie. What's holding you back?

Thanks everyone for the kind words. It was a great experience. Will let all know what the UHCC says about another couple of races there in August/September. Keep the feedback coming!
Hedgehog Photography took some wicked shots of it all, and has prints available for a paltry sum--ten bucks.
Below are a few gems.

Man, was it funny to see the expressions on the faces of the riders after only 15 mins of pain. Nearly everyone had a look of disbelief when they found out that there was still 30 minutes to go.

Nick K was absolutely stunning in mid air over the barriers. Great skill. Think he owes it all to the bike.

Cool photos, yankeehotelfoxtrot.

Spent half of Sunday scheming to get another cross bike (ss of course). The boss put the brakes on a speedvagen :(

Even if the boss said yes, you'd have to wait 18 months for a speedvagen!

Thats if they deem you worthy to have one. Among other things the application form makes you right an essay about why you deserve one.

A bit pretentious but amazing bikes.

Those barriers look bunny hopable on a mountain bike :eh:

I used to be able to clear haybales by bunny hopping over them back in the days when I had a rigid bike with toe clips... I would have thought some of those mtbike setups would have been able to clear it?? Probably pretty hard to do on a CX bike...

I supose if you had the skills (so completely counting me out no matter what the bike :D ) you could bunnyhop the one in the pic but the other ones definatly not. 1 was uphill were you had minimal spped and the other was a set of 3 about 2m apart.

Fair enough! Just looked like a cunning plan to gain a few seconds... but you never can tell from a photo!!
