Hi Everyone,

As you may or may not be aware, after many years of basically handedly running the club, Mike has decided to step down as Club president. This is a huge blow to the running of the club, due to the many behind the scenes tasks that Mike has done, and his experience with running events.

However, we must be looking forward.

We are looking at holding our AGM next month, and the first order of business will be the introduction of new senior members to the Club Committee. We are currently asking for nominations and expressions of interest for people to join the committee, and have a hand in the overall running of the club.

In particular, we need nominations for people to take the following roles on the committee:

President - The President is the principle leader of the Wellington Mountain Bike Club and has an overall responsibility to ensure the club functions properly and to ensure the club members requirements are met.

Treasurer - The treasurer is responsible for handling the clubs finances

Secretary - The Secretary is primarily responsible for ensuring that all club members are informed of club activities. This includes taking the minutes at meetings and producing the club newsletter.

Membership Co-ordinator - The Membership Co-ordinator is person responsible for receiving and processing Membership and Vehicle Pass applications for the Wellington Mountain Bike Club.

Long Gully Manager - The Long Gully Manager has overall responsibility for ensuring that the requests of the Long Gully land owners are met, and the overall operation of the area is maintained. This person will also be the leader of the Long Gully subcommittee

NOTE: These roles are not set in concrete. It is just an idea of a club structure that we will need to work through and develop. Also, these wont be the only people on the committee. This is just the major roles with regular tasks.

Also, you dont need any experience. We will help you through it, and show you what to do. You just need to be enthusiastic.

If you know of anyone you would like to nominate, or would like to nominate yourself, then please pm me. Please do not feel intimidated. If you are at all interested, then please respond, as we are always looking for new people to come on board.

Details of the AGM will be confirmed soon. Once we have things confirmed, everyone will be notified and invited to come along.
