I'd love to know, awesome event but they need to sort out the water stations or lack of!

Think I saw you cycle past, when sitting outside the döner shop on the main road. You did the whole course on a fat-wheeler?

Yip rode the whole course (only pushed on a small bit that other riders stalled on in front of me) on it 1x10 and it rocked, didn't see a single bike out there I'd rather have been on. Fats rocks.

Thanks, so just a little bit more than the kpoti, and a more fun ride too!

My Garmin says about 1600m, which tallies with what it's been previous years. In regards to the water stations, there is a definite 'self-supported' ethos to this one i.e carry what you need for the distance with the available water point at 30km, but I do understand your point.

I reckon quite a good solution would be to carry enough water yourself, rather than not enough.

True, but might have a point worth emailing organiser about: Road get 5 water stations, mtb get 1 - duration is similar.

I've posted it in the other Huka thread but, any feedback send to pete@biketaupo.org.nz the guys are definitely keen to hear feedback.

I would've thought that was because the numbers are much larger on the road?

Each to their own I guess - I don't factor drink stations into events. When I did the Huka last I had extra water stashed at the halfway point.
