How Much Does It Cost To Get A Tow Bar Put On?

I've got a station wagon and have been looking at bike racks that strap to the back, and they are nearly 2 hundy, I'm wondering if anyone has had a towbar put on and about how much did it cost you?

200-400 made and attached. Looked into this awhile ago but they were going to have to cut my bumper so I said no way Jose.

Hey Pulsar - I paid about $300 at Wellington Towbar Services - http://www.wtbs.co.nz/ That was for just the towbar - no electrics. (It was about $80 more for the electrics) This was maybe two years ago now.

Would recommend them :+)

if your in auckland,. A1 bars, made and fitted including electrics on a mazda 323 for $190. i searched for ages and they were by far the cheapest :thumbsup:

It could become an asset to have it there and ....bumpers can be plastic welded and resprayed.

I got a towbar for our Libero from Trademe.

It might have been about $80.

Have a look around for a secondhand one - Trademe(put a wanted add in), wreakers etc.
We don't have it wired up as it doesn't need it for a bike rack and if I get say some soil in a trailer people can see the higher stationwagon lights over the trailer.

It's hard enough finding EG9 parts without chopping them up! Plus I'd rather put one on my missus' car so I don't have to drive mine in the gravel...

go the wreckers. I got a towbar for the Mrs Mazda from mazline parts world here in chch for $150 or so. Fitted it myself. Easy as.

found mine thru an online car club for around $125 & then paid $40 to get fitted (& also a little more to alter my performance muffler dammit!).

Am stoked with mine, as it's a factory OEM one made by bestbars, and it has a removeable tongue so no more bashed shins!

i just had a towbar put on my toyota camray by megatyre towbars in browns bay on the north shore. it came complete with towball, wireing and shin protector for $369.00. i very good quality towbar, i am happy with it.
