Looks awesome Shailer. What great progress. Do you still want more plants. Need to move more that the birds have brought to my garden. Cabbage trees, Coprosma Robusta, Lacebarks galore. If you can use I will pot up more for planting later.

Yes please to seedlings, we will always have spaces especially as we create more track.

Well, it's been a long time since we have updated fellow vorbii on how Haven MTB Park is going.

Basically, it's going great! :thumbsup:

The tracks have been unaffected by the earthquakes and last winter was also kind with not too much rain so no slips to ruin all our work.

Most of the hard work is being done these days with a digger while the final tidying and berm building is being done by hand (coz it makes it much prettier).

There are now close to 10km of track built and we have even had to put signs up seeing as how there is definitely more than one track.

We have also hosted a number of groups over the past year including high school groups and a scout group, so there are tracks to suit all abilities.

With it being the 1st of October today, the membership fees for the remainder of the year (until the end of March 2012) have now halved, so if you want to experience a mountainbiking haven, check us out.

Hi There from Haven MTB Park

We have been working hard over the last few years and we are proud to tell you that we have 13kms of intermediate level tracks available, an exciting skills area being developed as well as a BBQ and seating available for post ride bragging.

Access to the park is via membership of the McQueens Valley Mountain Bike Club, which is very reasonable. A years worth of riding for less than the price of a movie ticket!

We would appreciate it if you could spread the word that we are seeking new club members to take advantage of these trails and to be part of this exciting long term project. We are more than happy for people to "try before they buy" if they wish. We have dig days on the second Saturday of each month that anyone is welcome to come to. If a group of people want to come out in an evening or weekend, please contact us.

A new membership year is about to start at the end of this month and with funding received for digger hire so that we can dig lots more track, it's shaping up to be another great year for the mountainbike park.

Membership is cheap (only $15 pp or $20 per family - see the website for other options) and the money goes into track development, so why not join the haven crew and start riding some of the 13km of members only tracks which were built with fun in mind.

The new membership year has just started and we have just received notification of approval for a second lot of funding so track building is going to be full steam ahead this year.
Join up and have your own input into what the tracks look like, or if you are handy on a 1.5T digger, then build them yourself!
Remember we also offer a "try before you buy" deal, so contact us if you would like to suss out the tracks before joining the club.
Riding groups are also welcome for a freebie.
