Happenings On The Tour Of Canterbury

Postby hillclimber on Mon 4/Jun/07 7:50pm

There was a big punchup at the end of stage 5 today at Oxford. Evidently some jersey pulling had been going on.
Its not good enough and I hope the riders concerned are severely dealt with. Its not a good look for the sport

Celebrating Sarah Martin's U17 girls victory. Well deserved after crashing out of stage 2 at TeA Tour after winning ITT by nearly 2min.

Tom Findlay (Palmy) lept of his bike tacking Matt Vermunt (Invers) and a punch up ensued.

Not the most suckful event of day. Sam was told not to chase the break and lost the lead in A grade. Poor guy was nearly in tears. I have had a gutsfull of the bullshit. Just get out and race guys!

Bad ending to what was a great tour!

Rode in D grade which went really well. Felt the course was ideal with a few hills etc. The weather was fantastic as was the organisation. The D Grade seemed very even and even on the last stage there was attacks especially in the last lap. Coped with pace. Dont know if there was team racing. Maybe there was.. Didnt see any.
Good on you Ross for making sure we did two laps on stage 5.

The afternoon teas were great and a big thankyou to who organised that.
Steven was a clear winner due to his sprinting ability and covering the breaks.

Great tour for me and will do it next year. Lots of fun.
