Hi there.

I'm entered into this race and I'm really looking forward to it. I have a couple of questions though.

Is there a website I can go to see the trail condition?

What type of surface is it?

I'm coming over from Aus and I've never ridden these trails before, any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance

The tracks are almost all singletrack - the route includes a couple of quite short sections of gravel forestry road. About 50/50 pine forest and open areas (areas of forest that have been logged in last 2 - 3 years and replanted with tracks reinstated).

Track surfaces are all pretty good - can get a little greasy in the open areas after rain, however the local club has been laying gravel on tracks recently to provide better all weather surface. Weather can be changeable this time of year - could range from cold and rainy to hot and dry so be prepared.

Track isn't overly technical - mostly good flowing track. A couple of rocky sections in Redrocks to watch.

No online track conditions up there.

Enjoy!

What happened to the proper Hanmer Hammerhead?
Where is the DH down Jollies Pass? The Uphill? Criterium? The fun times?
Or am I living time the times of the old too much?

Old times, the previous format stopped being supported by riders back in the late 90's.

Boo... I was in the first ever Hamner Hammerhead and competed for years. Back in the good days when you rode the same bike in the XC and the DH, only thing you would do was lower your seat slightly for the DH!
