Both ham and turkey are good meats.

Ham bests turkey on longevity, saltiness, standalone eatability, and similarities to bacon.
Turkey bests ham on best-post-Christmas sammich, and most spectacular/fun to cook, and the ability to make a turducken. It is also good with cranberry sauce, which is a good sauce.

Now if someone can come up with a good way of combining Blue & Halloumi in the same meal...

make a standard Halloumi burger as you would any other day but treat the halloumi like a meat patty and put a big slather of blue cheese on the top after you flip it. when the underneath is cooked bang that on your burger, bada boom, bada bing, done.

Enjoy with a nice Three Boys Oyster Stout.

Dont blame me for the massive case of the cheese sweats you would get after... or the 1 on the Bristol test resulting.

Hell yeah, that sounds like a christmas dinner.

First post pretty much sums it up.
The only people who prefer ham to turkey are people who can't cook.
If your turkey is dry and tough, yanotfuckingdoinitrite!

Edit: And obviously bacon beats all (but that goes without saying).

I can't cook (I ain't arguing that) BUT my aunt who lived in the USofA for a couple of decades does a mean Turkey, but even at its best, it isn't a dried up patch of poo on the capacious ass of a hog destined for my Christmas bellah! Turkey is for turkeys, Ham is for Piggahs, I'd back a Pig in a fight with a Turkey any day. (and then eat the victor, after salting and curing)

trotters are delicious

in fact one thing I want to do is get a whole pigs head. Make brawn from the meat, and you cut the snout off and fry it.

https://cooked.com.au/Adrian-Richardson ... awn-recipe

Our butcher will do a pigs head to special order. I just need to organise something big enough to cook it in.
