Trying to figure out if Brian Alder is narrowly leading or the 3 front runners are all together...

I heard Brian is trying to break the 'Sagan curse' this year of coming second, and finally sit on the top of the podium. He is also going on to the Tour Divide latter this year...

There's a couple of minutes between the GPS check-ins there, and not a great distance between them. Either way, it seems pretty normal to drift apart a little, only to catch back up at the next supply point in my experience. I wish I was down there hitting that one up - I'd love to do the GSB, maybe next one.

Ditto. Just checking is it held every year or every second year?

Every second as far as I'm aware - it's definitely more hardcore than the Kiwi brevet (you can kinda tell from photos, equipment, and finishing times!)

Just checked and looks like the first finishers came at 8:10pm, Brian Alder, Russel Shanks and, Rob Brown. Don't know if they were together at that point, must have been a pretty close finish!
