Nah, the risk of losing riders makes it fun and high stakes. If you have reserves then it's just a case of pick the highest odds riders in the race, without considering their reliability/taking a real risk/considering if they might get turfed off the tour for being naughty. Etc.

9 rider teams only!

I would also not like to see the reserves. However, bringing back the two or three tiered rider system was good as was predicting the jerseys, team and lantern rouge. Like the idea of the aggressive rider pick as well, could include team of the day as well just not sure how much extra work all this requires. Still a great competition though however it is run

Actually Buds has a great idea!! If you take the top 30 riders points it makes everyone consider how many stages suit climbers, sprinters and roulleurs and the teams would be more varied and more balanced with a variety of riders. You could still retain bonuses for stage finishes, intermediate sprints and climbs..and of course the jersey winners as an extra??

Whatever is decided, thanks to Tugboat...congrats Pb on your fine victory..and in the immortal words of Arnie... " Ill be back"! :-)

Yep that's an excellent idea to make the teams more diverse - 30th is a pretty good cut-off to award points down to on each stage. The GC guys will always try to finish near the front but on the flat stages a placing in the high 20s is about as good as they get so will be a little bit more of a lottery with them being right on that cusp. I think we might try that (plus bonus points for the climbs and sprints and combativity).

Yeah, top 30 scoring is a good idea.
