Bicycle thief be very good, as be Indochine. Volcano in Lyttleton be well worth a look for moderately priced and hearty. Saggio Di Vino does great food and has an excellent wine selection but be expensive.

We have heard alot o' people raving about joes garage, mainly a brekkie / lunch thing but could be worth a look http://www.joes.co.nz/

Speights ale houses, like anything - were better before ye masses took to them like a new watering hole in ye serengeti, ye drunken steak be more like "ye shadow o' ye former drunken steak"

Found two fat indians to be nice, and copper chime was ok - wouldnt write to calcutta about it but then im not a huge indian fan - found little india to be more me cup o' dilmah

Dux, well I eat meat - they don't
