Glenbervie Mountain Biking

Postby trailtroll on Sat 22/Oct/11 9:26am

Some trails within the forest are to be closed or modified due to Kauri Die Back Disease that has been found in the soil.
The trails concerned are waind-on (to be closed) and antidote (to be modified).
Cheers

Are you wanting people to steer clear of antidote for the time being then? I rode it on Monday arvo not knowing it was to be avoided.
Will Waind-on be reopened ever or likely to stay closed?

No antidote is fine to ride now, as I have reconfigured it where necessary, and wain-d-on will be closed as what is left is to short to bother with.

Two trails will be closed for the next little while, they are Flipper & Tin-Bum.
The trees in these areas are to be extracted from Thursday until approx Mid March.
Please ride clear of Burma Rd.
Cheers

last info i had was that we don't know what it is or how to control it

do we know what die back is? or what can be done about infection control (assuming it is infective)

Sorry , not my department, I just avoid areas where there is Kauri, so I don't help spread Die Back Disease.
As far as I am concerned it has always been here and has always effected Kauri, and there is no avoidance.
