Giant Contact Sl Dropper Seatpost

Postby Geordie on Wed 12/Oct/16 7:39am

Has anyone got a Giant Contact sl dropper seatpost? How are you finding it. I have a Reverb that needs to be serviced and it is going to cost $169 in parts. It is the earlier A1 version. I can get a new Giant post for $239. I understand it may not be quite as good as the reverb, but the service costs seem much lower and I would rather ride than fix.

Got one but only been riding it for about 200km. Is the 150mm.

Works well, was sticky at first but put some grease under the collar and made a difference.

The remote lever is a bit pants but will sort that later.

Got a 150mm also.
Grease under the collar, and an inner tube boot for me - looks a bit ghetto, but the main seal didn't inspire confidence.

I took the ratcheting teeth and release trigger off a left shifter to use instead of the stock lever. Big improvement.

I've been using one for the last 18 months with no problems. They have improved heaps over the original external cable ones.

Had em on all my last bikes. Work Ace. Would recommend as the best value for money dropper around the moment.

That Funn unit is $14 more than my giant was (also t7).
Better? Worse? Can it run stealth?

Got one of these the other day, two rides in and I actually prefer it to the reverb it replaced.

There's a long list of Giant parts to replace on my Anthem SX and the droppers not one of them!
