Last week I got a weird and uncomfortable swelling in my right leg (nowhere near my naughties you pervy sickos) which made it difficult to ride, so I checked in with my G.P. on Thursday who thought it might be a blood clot and asked if I'd managed to wrap myself around my bike or a tree. I hadn't, or at least not dramatically enough for it to really stick in my mind so he prescribed blood thinners and let me go.
Part of my cunning plan for the sifty paddle on Saturday was to avoid using my legs. However by Sunday I was well and truly in pain with quite a bit of surface bleeding.
Back to the G.P. on Monday, who looked at me and promptly booked me into the hospital on Tuesday with the warning they might want to operate then and there

The specialist/ surgeon had a look yesterday and announced he'd have to operate on me under a general anaesthetic (
) - which would have to be booked in later. All this time I'm limping around bleeding everywhere and generally having a rotten time.So... I'm back to the hospital on Friday for a pre-op check and going under the knife on Monday. Hooray!
I really haven't got much details (hopefully Friday will educate me a bit more) but I'm guessing that I won't be riding/ paddling/ tramping for quite a few weeks after the surgery and then I'll have to regain my lost fitness...
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!
Ah well, all I can really do in this sort of situation is grin and bear it. But don't be surprised if I disappear off the radar for a while, and then (let's be realistic) appear again and post a lot of crap as I go progressively stir crazy.
What a steaming pile of bumcakes

Sounds horrible Tama! Poor you
Usually I get it yearly, and I had my dose for this year in April so WTF?
That's what someone gave him-with-whom-I-live's Dad when he was in hospital recently
