Fuji Roady And Homebuilt Mtb Stolen -chch

Not happy. Some people are w**nkers!

Just got home and found somebody had broken into my house and pinched two bikes. Burgulary was this morning 22 May, between 9-11am, Waltham area.

1. 2008 Fuji Team RC road bike. Ksyriums, Dura Ace, carbon frame. Pic is not of actual bike, but mine was the same.

2. Homebuilt mtb. I built this in 1995-96. This thing is unique-as. Carbon fibre frame, full suspension 1996 vintage parts. I'll add a pic soon. Don't use it much anymore, but when I do, still gets plenty of looks.

Coppers have been contacted.

PM if you see anything, but I don't plan on seeing my bikes again.

That shouldn't be too hard to spot.
WTF were they thinking taking that?

I will have nightmares of that thing stalking me while night riding! Hope you get it back soon and chain it down this time (so it doesn't scuttle off by itself...).

That MTB is so weird it's awesome. Was the design brief to have as many linkages and pivots as possible?

Obviously they thought that it was what a normal MTB looks like.

Hi Andy,
I remember that MTB and its predecessor! Hope you find it again - you've more chance of seeing that around than the roadie.

Yeah I got bit carried away with the number of linkages! But they were all there for a purpose - no pedal actuated suspension movement, mechanical rising-rate suspension, almost zero stiction, anti-dive braking.

Remember the Britten V1000 motorbike? My bike has (had?) the same front suspension design.

The bike did actually work very well, I did a couple of thousand k's on it. I did a few xc races on it too. Being a prototype there were a few teeny tiny teething problems. Like the forks snapping in half...

Oli mate how's it? I still have the predecessor, it is now an attempt at modern industial art hanging on my wall - the thieving little cretins left that behind.

Looking at it it's quite similar to the BMW Telelever front suspension as well? I rode an R1150 which had that and it was strange but quite good, although I don't remember the lack of braking dive being too obvious...
