Keewee no longer make their bikes in New Zealand - to my knowledge the only thing the current company has in common with the original company is the name and one of the original staff Sad

Which is why you're having so much trouble sourcing the parts.

So... you're best off looking at getting them fabricated by a local engineering shop. There is a couple of ex-Keewee employees (and designers) on Vorb so I'll give them a heads up about this thread and they might be able to help.

The cromo8 was different than the aussie ones as it had the longer stroke shock.

Scoobydoo (or whatever it is) designed the bike so try and track him down.

It's such a pity that parts aren't readily available as d8s are such a nice ride. Just discovered today that a linkage on mine is buggered too.
I remember seeing a link to an auzzie website that was selling replacement linkage sets. From memory they weren't cheap.
I've been looking for the website, but had no luck so far.
Unfortunately looks likes we might have to get them machined up.

There were two versions of the linkage parts. Can you post a picture of your linkage - I may have a source in the UK who can machine up another set (not promising anything though!)

That back end does look more like a D8 than a Cromo8...
But the linkage plates look longer.

Can ya slap a ruler on there and measure the length of both bits? Got a lower link from my old d8 sitting here I'll measure up once I find les ruler.

righty, ballpark figures,

non shock linkage = ~78mm from the centre to centre of the pivots

shock linkage =~98mm centre to centre, shock mount ~26mm from the lower pivot.

linkage from a 2.25 stroke large D8

Wont work. Cromo8s were long shock and the plates were long to suit.

OK - those are standard D8 linkages. Let me know how you get on with Balfa. If you have no luck I will see what can be done. My friend in UK should still have the machining code for D8 linkages - if not I can send him the 3D CAD models.

cheers
