Penny Farthing Cycles PNP MTB Series Rd 3/5.

Round 3/5 Mt Victoria 12th October. Sign in at Hataitai Velodrome from 8:30am, starts from 10am.
14 separate grades including Under 15 right up to Master 50+ and Rocket Bikes Challenge.
1-2 hours duration and over $15,000 of spot prizes, medals and trophies.
Entry form and more details soon at www.pnp.org.nz/mtb or email mtb[at]pnp.org.nz

COURSE AMENDMENT ANNOUNCEMENT.

The section of single track which includes the now infamous Ski Slope and which deposits you above the bomb-hole into Charles Plimmer Park, has been removed from the SHORT COURSE.

This reduces the difficulties faced on the Short Course which should make it a more enjoyable experience for those in Class D who ride it exclusively, i.e Master Women, Rocket Bikes Men, Rocket Bikes Women, U15 Boys and U19 Girls, who all do two laps.

For those racing the B and C grades – When you do your Short Course Lap, you too will NOT ride the Ski Slope single track.

To reiterate again – The Short Course for ALL grades, does not feature the Ski Slope single track.

Referring to the existing course description and picking up at the first separation of courses, the amended description will now read:

…..Up and down little knob
SHORT COURSE
Turn hard right.
Go straight ahead, across first clearing and bear left down fast grassy slope through open clearing
Turn right and go down rooty slope
At first intersection take single track down hill on your right
Go down dipper and up into Charles Plimmer Park

The course description will be updated on the PNP website shortly. If you have any questions fire away on this forum or PM me. Davo

Now I'm wondering where exactly the new section (in red) goes?

Me too. That Rh turn after the 30m descent has me stumped. I need to get up there and see if there is something I've always missed. I only know the right turn immedietly next to the log launch, and the rh junction before piling out across the clearing.

Wrong descent. The red section above was not in the Nats course. Ricky crashed on the drop down to the playing field, thereby gifting me a place ;-)

I'm going to take a sifty women's pre-ride group out this Sunday afternoon (time to be confirmed, probably around 1 or 2pm-ish from the Velodrome). So if you know of any women who might want to give the Mt Vic round a go, let them know Double Thumbs Up

Will try to get Marco to send something out in his spam as soon as it's all confirmed Smile

I will encourage my wife to go. She would love a ride even though she won't be racing. It had better be sifty though!

Judging by my time at the last race, I think sifty is the only speed I've got at the moment! Laugh Out Loud

Damn, Marco was too quick with his spam! Here's what I've emailed him to include in his next newsletter:

Women's Pre-ride Mt Vic this Sunday

Celia Lie will be taking a sifty women's pre-ride of the Mt. Vic course (Round 3) this Sunday afternoon (28th September). Meet 1pm at the Velodrome. Pace will be fairly sifty, and we will be stopping to session some of the trickier sections of the course. So if you (or you know of any women who) want to give the Mt Vic round a go, let them know! Email runaspism[at]hotmail.com if you want any more details.
