well yeah, thats the beauty of electric engines, max torque and power instantly when you bury the pedal, add this to the power of the petrol engine and weight penalty or not, you'll be faster than a car with just a petrol engine of the same size potentially

Hmm Lexus 450h... lets geta 218kw V6 and bolt on a small electric motor and call it Green..

I know , what about getting a 8.0 W16 Bugatti veyron and stick on a 2kw motor, then its a hybrid right?..

I like fiskers car. Not a petrol car with electrical motors but an electric car that has an efficent petrol generator. Hopefully he will use a diesel generator as this is even more efficent. But it is American. The European Cars will be built by Valmet in Finland. They had the plug pulled by Porsche last month as they used to build all the Boxters and Cayennes. So this is a wonderful life line as there are no end of punters who need to buy their way out of a problem.

If you want insanely fast - drag off ferraris at the drag strip fast - you go pure electric, ala Tesla.

Hybrids are optimized for round town driving.

Your link is broked Sad

Hybrids suck, their environmental impact is greater over their life than a land rover, one assumes the car manufacturers are using them to ease the public towards electrics whilst avoiding going full electric for as long as possible.

I love how the new diesels perform better than the hybrids and don't have the same environmental cost of nickel mining etc Smile
