I know nothing about bikes. So don't be surprised if I ask really dumb questions.

Where would I go to get the bearings replaced in the crank hub? How much would be a reasonable price to have these replaced?

Bike I have is a bit worn but if the bearings get replaced, it will do until I get to know a bit more about the subject. Then I might know the difference between tail end and the front end.

In this case best to go to your local bike shop

cost really depends, on what kind of bike / bottom bracket you have, could be $35, could be $95

If you are in Chch then the guy at Opawa cycles is pretty good. Faced up my BB and rear brake mount for $25 sorted me out with some shims for a stem and front mech for peanuts - top bloke.

Id reccommend the guys at Bike Culture, near Zippys cafe, or Jeff at Kiwibikes across the road.
