So yesterday, I was driving my car to be able to get to the airport to pick the mum in law up to support Kaye and our new baby.

My car was parked under the events centre. I pulled out from the carpark, and some stupid schmuck cyclists road around me from behind (not in a lane, actually on the footpath coming out of Frank Kitts) just after my light went green and I was pulling out. Inches between me crunching him and seriously gnikcuf him up.

So yeah, I understand drivers hating cyclists. My aim with this thread (though probably pointless) is to shame cyclist out of the atrocious habits that they think is perfectly adequate road sharing.

I'll add to this, crashing red lights and weaving around pedestrians, just to save a couple of seconds.

Look, either you're a road user, OR you're a pedestrian. If you're a pedestrian, then frikkin walk. If you're a road user, STICK TO THE ROAD CODE!!!

GRRRRR.....

Anyhow, thread of shame started.

The group of cyclist "racing?" from Inglewood to somewhere up Egmont road last weekend. Taking up the whole f#cking lane on the main road, and when a gap pens up for me to overtake they decide to pull out in fron of me and pass another rider. Not even f#cking looking over their shoulders to see me slamming on my brakes. Then turning up Egmont road and as if one lane isnt enough they spread out across the oncomming lane as well. I should have steamed up their middle Angry

Comming back from coronet 2 road cyclists who were riding 2 abrest taking up the whole lane, its a 70/80/100(or whatever)km/h zone and these 2 were not moving to the side. After slowing to about 30km/h hoping they would hear me I gave them a toot. They proceded to pull the fingers and shake a fist at me, while 1 of them even chucked what looked like an energy gell at my car. I understand people being involved in car/bike accidents but people like this deserve to be steamed into. This is wh yI dont wear lycra!

But a little common sense goes a long way. Worst we can do is key their car. They could run us the f**k over.

nope. if you dominate a lane and force a car to overtake properly, rather then come within a cm of my left ear its all good

do you actually ride on the roads?

I can think of a few times when I've been driving around the bays and been stuck behind roadies riding two abreast.

I'm a roadie from time to time too, and agree with Joels comments regarding owning the lane when necessary, but I'm also more than happy to fall into single file and wave a car through if need be.

Dude, that is just asking for trouble. Anyone riding like that in Christchurch would be dead in a week!

Agreed.

There's law, then there's sensibilities.
