having recently moved back to Northland after 4 years in Christchurch, i have not been able to pick up what the DH/FR scene is like in Whanagrei now seeing that the stalwards of the DH scene (Mark and lance) have moved away.

is there a DH/FR scene??? does any one care about the DH club??? does anyone what to get things going again???

talking to a few intereseted parties it seems all is lost...or is it?

well as a passionate DH/FR'er, in my early 30's, I want to get the scene up here going again! the tracks at Parihaka are flowing and remind me of the tracks at Mt Hutt...but it seems the lights have been left on...but no one is home on the DH scene in Whangarei.

Paranoid yay, yeah there is someone home, there are still a few of us here still haven't seen or heard of you or seen any posts on here so thats probably why its so quiet.
Im Dan , mrfoes is my brother josh and there are a couple of others not on vorb that are up there as well.we are into building up there at the moment (club trail builds in the whangarei thread) on the lower hill (abbey caves entrance), i have just got hold of a slasher so we are looking at getting some more tracks into the lower hill over winter, as well as cleaning up tuna track and the top of taniwha (tracks map in the whangarei thread).
Yeah im keen on keeping the club alive but having young kids and a busy job i just dont have the time to keep up with the council and stuff. so at the moment we are just plodding along keeping our heads down and finishing ressurection track in order to move onto the next track etc, if your keen to meet up sometime soon and see whats going on im up there most sunday mornings (8am) with josh building when its been wet. Josh having more time to get around is spending more time up there some saturdays and after work if he makes it.

Any questions pm me or post up Double Thumbs Up

damn before we moved back up north, i hadn't seen rain in two months...move back up here, get that awesome thunderstorm a few weeks back, and sheet loads of rain. at least i won't see any snow or -5 degree frosts up here (unless i'm out track building too much...it might get really chilly at home!!!) Big Grin Tongue it
